Candle Care
For the best candle burning experience,
keep the following in mind:
- When you light your candle for the first time, allow it to burn until the wax pool melts to the vessel's edge, which creates an even burn for each light and avoids tunneling. Never burn a candle when there is less than ¼" of wax at the base.
- Trim your wick each time you light the candle. Keep your wick trimmed ¼" in length. When a wick gets too long, it cannot draw wax up to the top, so the wick itself will start to burn. By trimming your wicks before each use, you will get a cleaner, longer burn time.
- For an optimal candle burn, light your candle for 4-6 hours at a time, any longer, and your candle may get too hot, and the wick may get too long.
- When you light your candle, it's best to avoid any direct airflow (i.e., fan, window, drafts), this will help prevent rapid or uneven burning, sooting, and excessive dripping. If the flame has too much movement, there will not be enough heat for an even burn.
- There will be rough, bumpy tops after you burn your candle because of the all-natural soy wax in our candles. The rough, bumpy tops that occur after burning an all-natural soy wax candle are caused when the hot wax in the melt pool cools and solidifies at an inconsistent rate. It does not affect the candle's performance and is expected when using an all-natural soy wax free of additives.
- Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles out of the reach of children and pets.
